Paying your invoice

Here you'll find all the practical information about the cost of your consultation or procedure, how to pay, and what you'll get back from your health insurance fund. For hospitalization invoices, we refer you to AZORG.

section 1 - what gets invoiced

Two types of invoices

Good to know: you may receive two separate invoices, depending on the type of care you receive. It's useful to know this distinction in advance.

BY US

Consultation or outpatient care

You pay directly to our doctors after the consultation or procedure.

  • Consultation with the urologist
  • Follow-up or urodynamic examination
  • Outpatient examinations (ultrasound, etc.)
  • Minor procedures during the consultation

You will receive a detailed overview via the invoice.

BY AZORG

Hospitalization or day admission

AZORG invoices all costs related to a hospital admission.

  • Operations and surgical procedures
  • Hospital room and room choice
  • Medical and nursing care
  • Day-hospital procedures

Invoice from us — usually 1 to 6 weeks after the consultation.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your urologist's fees on the AZORG invoice

During a hospitalization, your urologist's fees appear on the AZORG invoice. AZORG collects these on our behalf and transfers the fee to us afterward — so you pay everything through a single invoice.

Section 2 - Non-contracted status

Our doctors are not under agreement

All urologists at Urology Group Aalst work under a non-contracted ("niet-geconventioneerd") status. This means we are not bound by the official RIZIV rates and may charge fee supplements — on top of the official rate.

example consultation

Indicative cost

Official RIZIV rate

€ 32,55

Fee supplement

+ € 27,45

Total fee

€60,00

Amounts are indicative — may vary by type of consultation.

What you get back

Health insurance reimbursement

Standard reimbursement

- € 25,57

Increased reimbursement

- € 30,55

Remaining cost

± € 30 - 35

Amounts are indicative — check with your health insurance fund for the exact reimbursement.

Why do we choose this status?

Our team continuously invests in training, research, and advanced technology — robotic surgery, laser treatments, international fellowships. This non-contracted status makes it possible to offer this top-quality care.

Want to know the exact cost in advance?

For planned procedures, you can request a free, no-obligation cost estimate. Ask for one through your urologist during the consultation, or through the secretariat.

SECTION 3 — How do you pay?

Three ways to pay after your consultation

For consultations and outpatient procedures, you pay immediately after your visit at our desk. You'll receive a detailed overview that you can submit to your health insurance fund.

Bancontact

Our preference — fast and secure. Available at all desks.

Contactless via your PIN.

Cash

Up to € 3,000. Change available at the desk.

Legal limit for cash payments.

Bank transfer

Pay within 14 days of receiving your invoice.

Always include the structured reference.

LATE OR NON-PAYMENT

What happens if you pay late?

Haven't paid your invoice within 14 days of receiving it? You'll first receive a free reminder. A second reminder adds a € 10 late fee, plus the statutory interest for late payment. Unpaid invoices are ultimately handed over to our collections procedure.

SECTION 4 — Reimbursement

What do you get back?

You can claim two types of reimbursement — from your health insurance fund, and, if you have one, from your hospitalization insurance.

Step 1

Health insurance fund

Submit your detailed cost overview to your health insurance fund.

You get part of the official RIZIV rate reimbursed. The fee supplement falls outside the reimbursement shown on the statement.

Submit your overview via the tab.

Step 2

Hospitalization insurance

Do you have supplementary insurance? Many policies cover fee supplements — bring your policy number to the department.

Arrange this with your insurer in advance and bring your policy or policy number to the department.

Tip: Check with your insurer before a planned procedure

Ask your personal advisor for a coverage confirmation in advance — that way you avoid any surprises.

SECTION 5 — Hospitalization

Hospitalization? AZORG invoices

Are you admitted for a procedure or a day-hospital procedure? Then you'll receive your invoice directly from AZORG — not from Urology Group Aalst. For questions about that invoice, contact AZORG's billing department directly.
